  • Lyophilized Marula Fruit: GRAS, no known adverse effects. Excellent safety profile.

  • Hydroxytyrosol (HXT): Derived from olives; GRAS. Well-tolerated at supplemental doses.

  • Oleuropein: Olive polyphenol; GRAS. Safe at included concentrations; may improve glucose tolerance.

  • NAC: Generally safe and well-tolerated. Rare side effects: minor GI upset or sulfur-like breath odor (transient).

  • Salidroside: Adapton from Rhodiola; safe at standard doses. Well-researched in stress and energy studies.

  • Phosphatidylserine (PS): GRAS, excellent safety profile. Commonly used in cognitive supplements.

  • Ubiquinol-10 (CoQ10): GRAS, well-tolerated. May have mild stimulant-like properties in sensitive individuals.

  • Nicotinamide Riboside (NR): Well-studied in humans; safe at supplemental doses. Emerging safety data strong.

  • Ambroxol: Previously used as cough medicine in Europe; safe profile. Note: Check regional availability and regulations.

  • TUDCA: Bile-acid derivative; GRAS. Well-tolerated at therapeutic doses. Bitter taste mitigated by capsule format.

Potential Side Effects and Tolerability

Most Common: Mild 

  • Bloating or gas: Due to inulin (prebiotic fiber) during adjustment period. Usually resolves within 3-7 days. Start with half-dose if sensitive.

  • Mild osmotic effect: Mannitol may increase stool frequency initially. Stay hydrated.

  • Stomach upset: Rare. Take with food if experiencing nausea (though PD Balance 1 is designed for empty stomach).

Rare: Non Serious

  • Sulfur-like breath: Rare NAC side effect; usually transient and resolves with continued use.

  • Mild stimulation: Some users report enhanced alertness from CoQ10 or B1; take earlier in day if affecting sleep.

  • Allergic reactions: Extremely rare but possible with plant-based ingredients. Discontinue and consult healthcare provider if rash, itching, or swelling occurs.

Serious: Very Rare

  • Severe allergic reactions (anaphylaxis) — seek emergency care immediately

  • Liver enzyme elevations (monitor with liver disease)

  • Severe GI distress requiring medical attention

Contraindications and Drug Interactions
